Noemy is a digital technology MFA candidate, an information technology professional, educator, and artist whose eclectic background, experience, and artistic palette encompass not only a variety of traditional mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, but also digital music, performance art, interdisciplinary works, video, animation, graphic design, and computer generative art. Her studio practice focuses on social justice projects surrounding femicide, art education access, community outreach, child advocacy, and works rooted in my tricultural American/Mexican/Native American heritage. Noemy's work strikes a balance between traditional and digital mediums. Her background as a professional recording artist in the regional-Mexican genre also serves as inspiration for her sound-based works and compositions. She recently completed a Master of Education program of study in Teaching and Teacher Education and fosters an active teaching practice in the areas of Experimental Video Art, Documentary Video Art, Ceramics, Digital Media, and World Languages, Spanish being her focus and first language.
